We are looking for a Parish Educator to join our newly established English-speaking worship community at Tikkurila church.

The role includes a wide variety of tasks in a parish context, such as leading Sunday School, coordinating group activities and camps for children and adults, and assisting in worship services and diaconal work. You will work closely with the pastor in developing and carrying out the International Ministry at Tikkurila Church.

The International Ministry is formally a part of the Swedish parish of Vantaa.

Description of tasks:
• Planning and carrying out weekly activities and camps for children and adults
• Leading groups and Sunday school
• Participating in worship services and developing a worshipping community
• Meeting with parish members and participating in diaconal work
• Other tasks assigned by the vicar

Eligibility requirements:
• Relevant degree, at least at the university of applied sciences (ammattikorkeakoulu) level (for example a degree in social work with focus on children, youth or diaconal work, or a theological education)
• Good command of English, especially spoken English
• Good command of Swedish or Finnish - preferably Swedish beacuse your closest coworkers will be the Swedish parish staff, but both languages are an advantage
• Community-oriented approach and ability to use participatory methods
• Readiness to work in a multicultural team
• Confirmed member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland

Desirable qualifications:
• Understanding of the situation of people who have recently arrived in a new country and culture
• Experience of working in multicultural contexts
• Musical skills (singing and/or playing an instrument)

The position is categorized as spiritual work without fixed working hours and is permanent. The desired starting date is January 7, 2026, or as agreed.

The salary falls within the KirvesTES pay group 503 (€2,957.24/month). As this is a 50% part-time position, the salary will be €1,478.62/month plus experience-based supplements.
