About 19,000 professionals from different fields work in the church. They work in the spiritual work of the parish as well as in tasks such as finance, administration, communication and property maintenance.

In their work, the employees of the parish encounter people's everyday life and celebrations. That's why many employees also work in the evenings and weekends. Work is done together – with other employees and parishioners. The job requires interpersonal, cooperation and networking skills. Membership and confirmation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland are required for some positions.
